FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Scope, safety, evidence handling, and privacy.
Is VetCaseIQ a diagnostic tool?
No. VetCaseIQ is a literature-aware research and differential-support assistant for licensed veterinary professionals. It does not diagnose, treat, prescribe, or provide veterinary medical advice. All output must be reviewed by the attending veterinarian.
Does it tell me what the patient has?
No. It organizes the information you provide into a structured differential framework with supporting findings, conflicting findings, confidence levels, and caveats. It uses considered language and never states a definitive diagnosis.
Will it invent lab values or citations?
No. The system is designed around evidence integrity. If information is missing it says “Not provided.” If something can't be determined it says so. It never fabricates citations, values, or findings.
Why does the literature section say it's not configured?
Live literature retrieval is disabled in this MVP. Rather than generate plausible-looking references, the report clearly states that retrieval is not configured. The architecture is built so real sources (PubMed, Europe PMC, PMC Open Access) can be added later.
What files can I upload?
PDF, DOCX, and TXT up to 10MB each — lab reports, discharge notes, referral letters, imaging reports, or prior history. Text is extracted in memory and not stored.
Is my data stored?
Not in this MVP. There is no database. In-progress work is kept in your browser session and cleared when you close the tab. Do not upload data you are not authorized to share.
Can I use this in an emergency?
No. Do not use it as a substitute for immediate clinical judgment in emergencies.
Who is responsible for clinical decisions?
The attending licensed veterinarian remains solely responsible for all clinical decisions and must review all output against the original records.
